(Senior) Computational Engineer

Opis oferty

Oqton's Bremen office (formerly Additive Works) is a small development unit responsible for the physical modelling and optimization of industrial 3D printing.

The core of our work is to use FE-simulation in order to automate job preparation steps such as placement of supports, distortion compensation and to ensure stable prints and part quality.

We provide fast and usable software packages, i.e. our own simulation suite Amphyon, as well as libraries and cloud services for other in house and third-party software (3DXpert, Oqton MOS, Elise, PTC Creo, etc.). Base of our work is our own GPU-parallelized FE-solver and Mesh-Generator specialized for 3D printing.

We're looking for candidates with a strong interest in modelling real-world problems and providing applicable software. We organize our development in small teams involving also colleagues from Oqton's other offices which are specialized in geometry modelling, algorithms, AI, etc.

Your primary task will be physical modelling and algorithm development, such as enhancing our material models, improving the FE-Solver or other algorithms like the FE-Mesh generation. Whether you're newly graduated or have years of experience is not decisive, we'll adapt your role to your experience - and you'll get as much responsibility as you feel ready for. If this sounds exciting to you, please send your resume and a short motivation letter and we will get in touch!

Wymagania

  • Background in numerics and modelling: especially in solving PDEs or material modelling
  • Programming experience with .NET C# (or willingness to learn)
  • Experience in development of algorithms
  • Ability to work independently and willing to take ownership
  • Interest to familiarize with new topics
  • Good command of the English Language (all communication is in English)
  • Master’s degree in (industrial-) mathematics, physics, materials science, computer science or similar

Responsibilities

  • Develop new approaches and models for different real-world applications

  • Improve existing algorithms

  • Create applicable tools for further productization by the team

Bonus Qualifications

  • Background in materials science/thermodynamics/continuums mechanics

  • Experience in GPU parallelization

  • German language
