Senior Software Engineer Geometric Algorithms

Job description

Who We Are

Oqton is a fast-growing international scale-up with offices in San Francisco, Atlanta, Ghent, Copenhagen and Shanghai, and the Engineering branch of 3DSystems. Our AI-powered software platform allows manufacturing facilities to fully automate, integrate and monitor their machines and workflows.

What We Are Looking For

As a Software Engineer working on geometric algorithms, you will play an important role across our innovative desktop manufacturing software suite combined with our cloud-based Oqton MoS platform. The core of our work is a set of geometry processing libraries with applications across scan-based data processing, mesh and CAD-based modeling, and print preparation, with applications in vertical industries such as automotive, aerospace and healthcare.

We're looking for candidates with a strong interest in building state-of-the-art software algorithms to solve real-world problems. We organize our development in small teams involving colleagues from Oqton's other offices. You'll have a very high degree of autonomy and major influence on your role and which projects you'll work on. Your primary task will be algorithm development, but you'll simultaneously be responsible for ensuring a seamless integration with the full workflow and a great user experience.

What You Will Do

  • Full software development life cycle responsibilities including writing specs, designing and implementing code, testing, and deploying software components.
  • Analyze and design improvements to core geometric technologies to improve software capabilities.
  • Ensure integrity across software products to maximize reuse, migration paths and integration of future features/technologies.
  • Collaborate with application development, QA, and product management teams to define and guide development for major features, bug fixes, and product integrations.
  • Understand industry standards and emerging technologies to develop a total software solution.
